"I'm smoking Dope, Boy / Call it Zach & Cody"

I started my day listening to this mix while walking the icy sidewalks of coastal Maine. I was being careful until I was momentarily overtaken by Azealia Banks' excellent vocal delivery in Jumanji, specifically the line "Real bitch. All day. Uptown. Broadway." Suddenly this real bitch was on the ground wincing in pain, having missed some ice.

A savy but cynical reader may place blame for my falll with Ms. Banks and her penchant for troubling comments, but I'd argue our society's desire to demonize women of color is stronger than her individual missteps, however obnoxious (more on that in tomorrow's post).

Regardless, and as the cover image suggests, this mix was intended to be heard on the 3rd blunt while riding in a beat-up old Cadillac. And while weed science and quality has increased tremendously since 2012, I'd argue they still don't make terps or dabs or any of it strong enough for this stellar trap mix, much less the trauma of late capitalism in 2025.
